Marhaba!!!
Hello, how is everyone this week. We hope you are
enjoying the major push before finals as much as we
are! May you finish your projects/midterms with joy!
A funny thing on thursday(also sad), Fr. Cyprian did not know that you
could get into the chapel from STM and was waiting infront of the building
for 45 minutes before he left(very cold). He deeply apologizes, though
I kinda felt bad myself (we'll have to send him a fruitbasket or coffee).
We had 15 people show up for vespers and ended
up doing the akathist of "Glory to God for All Things". It's my favorite
akathist as it was written by a priest while he was in a Russian Gulag
waiting for the firing lines for being a Christian. It is amazing how he
can still rejoice in the snow(how?) and we are complaining about 15 cm's!
(For those who don't know, Akathists are a form of sung prayer poetry that
can be written be for anyone such as a saint, Mary or the Trinity.)
It's good practice to be able to say Glory to God to everything
in all circumstances.
The fellowship after was amazing, (thank you to Subdeacon Jim and Karen
for bringing sandwiches)! We hope to reschedule Vespers on Wednesday
Dec 6. at 5:00pm to make up. There will be confessions afterword. I hope
everyone comes out to getsome relaxing in before finals. A games night will
proceed either before or after Vespers. (email Mike or us for the best time).
Then our next event will be in January with a coffee house to start the year.
(email me if you want to do a song)
No meeting this week as were letting people have midterms. See you
next week. (prayer as usual on Tuesday). And if this is it,
Have a great Christmas! Christ is Born! Let us Glorify Him!
Bye
