Aloha!
I hope everyone is enjoying themselves. Last week was quite an eventful week for OCF. On tuesday OCF went bowling! The first round saw a couple people get in the 160's while the next round saw the scoring plummet so much that one member had 53 after six frames. We thoroughly enjoyable yet humbling time.
On Friday, OCF had its first coffee house ever, a total of 12 people took in an amazing musical program as well as a mountain of food! The program was opened by Robert Funk with his guitar and a mario medley on the piano, then Mike and Steve had a couple songs closed by wonderful 50 minutes of Jim Davis entertaining us with his guitar and wealth of experiances. A totally amazing night(you guys that didn't come missed out)!
This week there will be no OCF as there will be "Vespers with Jazz" at Agustana Luthern Church (on agustana and Broadway) at 5:00 pm. A group of Orthodox will be singing Psalm 104(1st song of vespers) there. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you need a ride email us and we will find you one.
We will have however, be having Vespers at Sheptysky Institue (corner of College St. and Wiggins St., across of Health Sciences) on Thurday jan 25. They have a Byzantine Catholic Chapel and the priest,Fr. Andre Lalach invited us to serve vespers for them. You can tell Catholic friends that Fr. will be doing confessions and may serve one of the services. This is a wonderful experiance to worship Christ and pray for christian unity! The Vespers will be at 5:00 pm at sheps. (to get there go behind the building(back alley) and there will be a fire escape between the garage and building that leads to a door at the second floor that will be propted open slightly(there will be a poster on it). The chapel will be through these doors.
Stay tuned for info on Mrs. Griers talk next tuesday.
Also OCF and the OCA youth and young adult ministry will be holding a retreat in Saskatoon starting Sunday Feb 11, and ending Tuesday Afternoon Feb 13. This will be worth your time to stay in Saskatoon.
