"About 2.5 million consumers plan to purchase a new television($3000-$6000) for Super Bowl Sunday, up from the 1.7 million who said they would buy a set last year, according to a survey by the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association (RAMA)." About 100 million will order in food or go to bars($30) to watch the superbowl.
Its amazing how many people will be spending money for one game a year yet how little we make an effort for eternity. A few hours or dollars of helping at a church, a few more minutes praying or reading our bibles can make a world of a difference in our spiritual lives and grow our churches. Interesting to think about.
Hey-O!
We hope everyones doing well. Last week had a small attendance at a wonderful talk by Lorraine Grier. Its too-bad, Mrs. Grier gave a wonderful talk. This week will be on Vocation, Michael Luciuk will be leading a discussion on "Vocation, a job or lifestyle". If enough people come, pizza may make a suprise appearence at the event!
By the way with Archbishop Lazar coming on Monday March 5, at 4:30 pm to Physics 107, we will need people to man the doors, people to bring some baking, and someone to be in charge for the day of to help the event run smoothly. Posters should be soon appearing on walls near you!
Now to the retreat, for those that asked, no it will be a fairly formal live out retreat, billets will be provided for those who need one and if you want to come but need a ride, email us at sask.ocf@gmail.com and we will get someone to do that. The topics going to be great! The Speakers Awesome! The Volleyball/ Snow-Football will be awesome! The fellowship after hours will be upbeat! The food will be amazing! It's going to be awesome! I hope everyone can come. It's Sunday(11th) at 7:00 pm, Mon(12th) from 9:30-9:30, and Tuesday 9:30-1:00 pm. Please email us if you can.(note IT IS during the spring break). If you can only make it to part of it, bring $10 for the food and thats great, just let us know this. Remember its only 15$, less than a superbowl night.
For those who can't make it to either of these events, have a nice spring break!
