Konichiwa

I hope everyones week is going well.... two weeks till the start of finals! I can wait!

Thank you for everyone who showed up to Fr. Bernard's insightful talk on Prayer last thursday. It was a talk that is hard to do and was wonderfully put. We learned such advice as to let our prayer rules be decidedby our spiritual fathers(that way it is a RULE) and also that the moment we are praying to get something(some experiance/emotion, see the his light) we are failing at praying. The compline at the end was really powerful .. it was prayer in action. Thank you for all 6 people that showed up at the talk.

This saturday we also had an informal games night(foosball/pool). Despite the fact that president Michael not being able to make due to a broken axle, 5 people showed up. I hope you guys enjoyed yourselfs as he was phoning tow trucks!

This week.... It looks like we are going to have Vespers at Saint Thomas Moore Chapel (this may be subject to change,we wil know more by tuesday night)on campus. Daily vespers is an amazing service that dates back to the first centuries. We hope to have a good crowd. Fr Cyprian will be serving and may give a quick talk. If you want to use a paticular melody, please email Michael or sask.ocf (at)gmail(dot)com. Readers and choir directors are welcome. This is a great way to officially end of OCF for the year. We will have a video on the shroud of Turin next week and a games night(X-Box, board) the following wednesday.(1pm)

On a good note, Holy Ressurection Orthodox Church(OCA) has donated 200$ for our use(this is enough to get ratified, rent our room and get some pizza). Thank you and God Bless! It's nice to know that the local churches believe in our vision and want to help out!

Hope to see you guys out for vespers, have a great week and a good Vanier Cup Final(or weekend).
