Callaspara, and good day to you too!
We hope everyones week has been going well! Finals are coming up!!!
Last week's retreat was amazing 18 Saskatonians took part in a smaller than normal but powerful retreat. The topic was wether being Good is the same as being Godly and what the meaning of rules are. It's message is summed up into saying that in becoming who we are, through God's grace is the only chance of being Good. Folllowing the rules does not make you a good Christian. That we are called to be ourselves not follow rules, rules are to let us know when we are doing wrong. That we still need is grace. We are not supposed to be cookie cutter Christians living for an ideal. How God's grace changes are life is entirely up to who he made us to be,.. are personhood! The retreat was, great and we thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship. The worship was amazing!
It really was beyond words. We did an amzing powerful akathists hymn(half hour of prayer
poetry sung) written by a russian priest about to be shot in a firing
squad in a gulag in russia. So.... Powerful, amazing that a guy would
be so amazed at creation as he is waiting to be shot. Man, the joy.
That we are called to be ourselves not follow rules, rules
are to let us know when we are doing wrong. That we still need is
grace. Wow, .... its so amazing.
Remember God's love is not only painful but hard to bear, but in that
encounter we will be changed in ways we never thought possible, don't
shy away from something that hurts you but embrace it and learn to
love. This is salvation!
Foosball also was enjoyable, small but good. Thank you for everyone that participated in that while the rest of us were away.
