Ola Seniors et Seniorritas !

We hope this week is going well!

Thank You for everyone who showed up to Subdeacon Jim's talk on creativity. Jim is an amazing singer. At the end of his talk he serenaded us with his guitar for 45 minutes. And the free pop and cookies ... yummy! A total of 11 people graced our halls to enjoy the music. It was a great talk and we hope everyone enjoyed it!

Also thank you to the 4 that showed up for dodgeball. There was over a 100 Christians from around campus that took part split into 5 random teams. In the end Tim's Blue team nearly went undeafeted before Mike's Orange team won one game to go 1-1 in the series. In the third game, orange got blue team down to 2 versus oranges 14. Fortunately Tim's team came back, and in the next 10 minutes proceeded to beat orange to become the champions!
OCF was then invited to join IVCF(inter-varsity-Christian-fellowship) in the rematch of last years battle between them and Campus for Christ(C4C formerly Crusade for Christ). The fellowships prevailed to keep the title. Then OCF was invited to join CCO(Catholic Christian Outreach) to fight IVCF which we lost and fight C4C which we prevailed! Too bad more of you didn't come out. Maybe next year, OCF can field a team! Though stiff and tired it was fun, and we enjoyed the foosball in between!

On to this week! Though previously cancelled, there will be a meeting on thursday. Steve (activites co-ordinator) and Tim have organized an informal Foosball tournament at there house. Their will be free juice and pizza offered, and lessons if you have never played before. Come out it should be nice, small and fun. We will meet at Group Space on thursday at 5:30pm and and a ride will leave there around 5:50pm. If you will be late or want directions email us back. Tim lives at 1623 8th Ave North (opposite side of the river as campus). Prayer will still be on at Tuesday at 1:00pm at the group space.

The rest of us will be off at the retreat on thursday. 15 or 16 have signed up and will be emailed at a later date about rides. Please pray for us as we journey to Edmonton for Christian fellowship and growth in Christ. They believe it will have over 100 people at it. If you couldn't come this year, go to the foosball tourney and hopefully we can get you there next year. (If finances are an issue for these things, email us and we will try to get support for you from a parish).

Also though Profressor Zorbas cannot talk next thursday(nov 16). Father Bernard Funk from St. Vincents Antiochian Orthodox Church has consented to do a talk on "Attitudes and Prayer". This is a must see talk. He will be discussing if emotional experiances can be counted as prayer and what is the balance between them. The whole talk will be on the experiance of prayer and what prayer actually entails. Prayer is not always what you think, Fr John Hainsworth of Vancouver always tells people that prayer is not some uptight proper mystical experiance as people assume, but conversing with one another is prayer. "Just talking with each other, having fun, doing things, and fellowship is doing exacty what Jesus did with his disciples and what the disciples did with each other". Free food will be provided.
